Letter: People need to wake up and stop Donald Trump

The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the President of the United States can be immune to the laws that govern the rest of us.
In setting this dangerous ruling, they have again showed their favor for Donald Trump and letting him get away with the things he wants to do. 
Their ruling shows no regard for the system of checks and balances that our Founding Fathers wanted for our nation. A system of checks and balances means that no one, of the three branches of U.S. government that exist, can have greater power than the other. They are supposed to work together to “check” and “balance” the powers of the others.
As Justice Sonia Sotomayor said astutely in her dissent, the President is now a “king” for all intents and purposes because he can do what he wants in some situations just because he is President. That is not right. That is not what our Founding Fathers wanted. That is not allowed in the Constitution. It threatens the fabric of our democracy.
We were not intended to be ruled by a king.
It does not make our President the first citizen of our country, the first one that all the laws rest on, that he must abide by, must live up to and be an example of.
It makes him above the law in some situations. Of the nine justices on the Supreme Court, three were appointed by Donald Trump. While this does not make it right, it does go far to explain why SCOTUS frequently sides with Donald Trump.
I hope this letter can make people wake up and want to stop Donald Trump and, even the Supreme Court, if necessary, if it is determined to allow Donald Trump destroy our nation.
